Not even two months after I moved in, I was experiencing damps, leaks and mould inside the property. After almost a year and half, the walls started to crack and air was coming in
I complained about this issue to my landlord and the council and nothing was done. I really started to see the disrepair affect my mental health and anxiety because it didn’t seem like the council or support centre was doing anything. Using the website, I was out in touch with solicitors who took my claim on a no win no fee basis. Within 6 months of my solicitors submitting my claim, the landlord, I was given the option of repairing the flat or moving to a new premises. I chose to move to a new flat and my solicitors made sure that flat was renovated and approved by a surveyor. I was also paid £5,000.00 in compensation. I cannot recommend them enough.
My family and I were facing serious housing problems after moving to London. We reported over 10 times to the landlord that there was leaks and water entering the property and they continued to say someone would come out but they didn’t send anyone. Eventually, the boiler started to have issues and the water entering into the property caused damage to the kitchen electric. I had two minor children living with me and they got very sick so I decided to chance it by filling the form. I just contacted by a solicitor who explained everything to me. Because my issue was urgent, they took the matter to court. Once the landlord was notified of the claim, they sent someone the same week to fix the electric and heating. I can’t believe things could have worked so fast. Someone from the housing association apologised and we fixed a date for repairs. I was also paid £4750.00 in compensation. I want to thank you for your help.
I am so thankful to you for taking my claim. It was a nightmare for me and my family living in the property. We continued to complain of smell and rodent within the property and after numerous visits by the council they continued to blame my family stating it was our living conditions. They never took any time or care to check why the house smelled so bad all the time and why the bricks and walls were wet. They blamed it on us and said it was condensation. I came upon you by chance and form the start to finish, your solicitors fought this case. A professional surveyor came and inspected the walls and found that there was a burst sewage pipes which meant that the toilet flush was leaking inside walls. Due to the seriousness of the issue and the fact we had skin rashes and other illness, we chose to vacate the premises and take another house. The solicitor also got each member of the family £3000.00 so myself, the wife and our children got £12,000 in compensation for living in that hell for over a year. Thank you so much for treating us with kindness and understanding.
When the Landlord failed to repair a defective staircase flooring which had rotted causing the flooring to give way. This caused injuries to Mrs Anderson who fell down suffering a fracture to her ankle. Mrs Anderson was a 61-year-old woman who had made several complaints to the loose floor board on her staircase. The private landlord failed to undertake repairs causing the floor board to rot and give way whilst Mrs Anderson was using it. These caused injury to her and she received compensation in the sum of £38,000.00 as well as a full renovation of the staircase.
I have been a housing association tenant for about 12 years but for the last 4 years, the home I had lived in started to fall apart. Leaks, damp, mould and even issues with the toilet flush. I complained to the housing association for about 11 months and the housing association maintenance would attend and simply clean the mould. The mould always came back worse and as time went on, we walls started to get rotten.
I contacted Housing disrepair solicitors using the forms and the solicitors took on my claim. I worked with a lady called Laura who was fantastic from start to finish. Within weeks of contacting them, they sent out a surveyor and then submitted my claim. I had my home repaired within 6 months and although I didn’t know I could get any money due to the disrepair, the solicitors were able to explain the process and I received £3200.00 in compensation from Catalyst Homes.
I am very grateful for you taking my claim on a no-win-no-fee basis. In lockdown, my boiler went out and I was left without any heating or hot water. I raised complaints as I had a new baby and I was told that the work will be raised. It was almost 8 weeks before there was any attempt to fix the issue and not long after the engineer left, the boiler broke down again. I was desperate and contacted the solicitors and they immediately stepped in and helped on a no-win-no fee basis. After my claim was submitted my boiler was replaced about 4 weeks after. Because I was without heating for about 3 months, I received £2000.00 form my landlord along with 50% reduction in rent for the 3 months when there was no heating into my flat. I am very grateful to my solicitors who were compassionate and helped every step of the way.
I brought a claim for housing disrepair because there was damp and mould all over the property I was renting. I noticed that my little boy who was born asthmatic started have worsening symptoms after the leaks, damp and mould started to affect the house. I completed the online form and within 24 hours solicitors contacted me back to get more details about the claim. A few weeks after there was a surveyor sent out by the solicitors and he was able to inspect and confirm the cause of the damp and mould was issues with insulation. I was offered a replacement property by the Council due to the severe damp and health issues. My solicitors also got £7500.00 for my son and I as compensation.
I would really like to show some appreciation to my Solicitor for helping with the damp and mould condition. I struggled immensely with the state of my flat and nothing was being done until the solicitors stepped in. I paid no expenses and they were also able to get me compensation which I am grateful for.
Thank you for treating me with dignity and working on my case priority. I hoped for a fast resolution but the fact that you were able to resolve this within 21 days is such a blessing. I cannot thank you enough. As a disabled 65 year old woman confined to a wheel chair, it was extremely humiliating when my toilet flush stopped working. It was the only one in my flat and I wasn’t able to go anywhere. I called my landlord and it always went to a line which asked me to leave a message. I must have lefty over 30 messages and I felt that no one was hearing me. I started calling my neighbour who would kindly take me up to his flat to use his toilets. My daughter completed the forms after she saw this come up on the internet and when the solicitor called she insisted on speaking to me. I explained it all and she immediately stated that it was a health and safety issue so she could make court application to move things along faster. I am so pleased I did this because within 3 weeks of my solicitors being involved, it was resolved. You will never know what you did for me. Whilst the compensation was an amazing addition, getting my dignity and self-respect back brought me so much relief.
